Full Moon VisionQuest to Maui: “You Can Heal Your Life” Retreat

September 17-27, 2010

This is an exciting and rare opportunity to see the wonderful, beautiful and very spiritual island of Maui through new eyes! Grateful Hearts Rainbow Tours has partnered with LifeANew and VisionQuest Tours to bring you the Full Moon VisionQuest to Maui: “You Can Heal Your Life” Retreat!

For nine fabulous day, we will explore and study Louise Hay's teachings of her worldwide best seller "You Can Heal Your Life" while touring the luscious island of Maui! Workshops will be approximately 25 hours over the course of nine days and we will stay "On The Road To Hana" at the Ke'anae Peninsula YMCA Camp, where Hawaiian legend says God made the first man and woman. Yes, it is paradise and many refer to it as "Eden." This trip is not yet priced, but we are dedicated to keeping this "all inclusive" special trip affordable for all! The itinerary is as follows:

B = Breakfast, L=Lunch, D=Dinner

Day 1 (D)

Welcome to Maui! You will be picked up at the airport in Kahului and driven to the Keanae Peninsula, YMCA Camp. After our dinner we will gather for our “Soul Café” and an authentic Hawaiian Blessing by a local Kahina.

Day 2 (B,L,D)(workshop hours: 3-4)

After Breakfast, we will gather for a Welcome “Soul Café” for introductions, orientation of the camp and the Keanae Peninsula and briefing of the week’s events and to set your intentions for this VisionQuest. In our first workshop in Healing Your Life and Achieving Your Dreams, we will explore Louise Hay’s philosophy and how it relates to us and our own belief system. In reconnecting with our inner child, we will begin to gain new awareness of our thoughts, feelings, and emotions. Mirror exercises will help the process of the body-mind connection.

After lunch, we will take a walk down to the sacred areas of the peninsula for an informal workshop, exploration, sharing, and meditative work. After a “Welcome dinner”, there will be a guided meditation in the gymnasium and “Soul Café” to share our thoughts of the day.

Day 3 (B,L,D) (workshop hours: 1-2)

After Breakfast, we will board the motor coach and head east on the “Road to Hana” stopping along the way to enjoy the waterfalls and majestic scenery as well as spiritual points of interest. We will have lunch in Hana and then continue to the Seven Sacred Pools, and an informal workshop overlooking the Pacific. Our positive energy flow will be enhanced by participating in the optional guided hike up to Waimoku Falls. The hike to Waimoku Falls passes the 185-foot Makahiku Falls (which is also beautiful) at about half a mile into the trail. The trail winds through a bamboo forest at about the mid way point, following the Pipiwai Stream and is 4 miles round-trip, gaining 650-feet in elevation. It takes 2 ½ to 3 hours. The final destination is the fantastic Waimoku Falls. This gigantic waterfall drops 400-feet down a sheer lava rock wall into a boulder-strewn pool; this is the tallest falls on Maui and it is breathtaking! Be sure to wear sturdy shoes for muddy conditions.

Back at camp, we will have dinner and then a “Soul Café” with guided meditation in the gymnasium. A campfire “Soul Café” is also an option, weather permitting.

Day 4 (B,L,D) (workshop hours: 7)

After Breakfast, we will meet for a full day of workshops, breaking for lunch and snacks. In our workshop today, we will continue with mirror work and explore more reasons and ways to love ourselves. Recognizing and releasing any negative messages that arise and finding new ways to replace these with positive, loving messages as well as learning techniques to release anger safely will be a very powerful lesson!

After dinner, we will have our “Soul Café” with guided meditation. Our creative juices will be satiated with Smores roasted over the campfire.

Day 5 (B, snack) (workshop hours: 2)

After Breakfast, we will meet for a couple of hours to continue our workshop by exploring family dynamics. What was your family like when you were growing up? How did the family members relate to each other?

We will then board the motor coach for Beautiful Lahaina Town. Lahaina was the center of the whaling industry in Hawaii and the original capitol of the islands. It is also where the first missionaries landed. It is rich in history and a great place for finding local treasures of all types (art, jewelry, island wear, etc.) On our way back to camp, we will share in a “Soul Café” on the motor coach.

Tomorrow morning is the optional Haleakala (House of the Sun) Sunrise tour! Those of you attending will want to go to sleep earlier tonight as we will be up early (3 am!) for a 4:00 am departure.

Day 6 (B, D) (workshop hours: 1)

Wake-up call at 3:00am this morning for a 4:00 am is departure. We will travel up to the summit of Haleakala for sunrise, a once-in-a -lifetime experience that will allow you to connect to the power of nature and spiritually connect to the legend of Maui, the demigod who harnessed the sun for his mother, the goddess Hina.

"In ancient times the Kahuna po`o (high priests) knew the value of Haleakala as a place to view the planets and the stars, and as a place for meditation and receiving spiritual wisdom. Haleakala is a sacred place and must be treated with respect." - Kahu Charles Kauluwehi Maxwell Sr

On our way down from the Crater we will stop at the Kula Lodge. Here you may decide to have a hot breakfast, shop at the gift shop and/or browse the botanical gardens. The Kula Lodge is approximately 3500 feet above sea level and the area is known for growing the magnificent protea flowers. Continuing on toward camp, we will stop in the Plantation and self-proclaimed “Hippie town” of Paia for a couple of hours of shopping, exploration and a chance to visit the Dharma Center and the Great Paia Lha Bab Peace Stupa that was consecrated by His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama on April 24, 2007 during his historic two-day visit to Maui.

Stupas are essentially a teaching without words, a sacred support representing love, tranquility, healing, contentment & knowledge. They are a place for spiritual worship and prayer. Their presence in the community is recognized as a symbol of peace and brings benefit to the environment and all beings.

When we arrive back at the camp, we will meet for a 1-hr. workshop before dinner to review what we have covered and how it is relating to our lives and intentions for this VisionQuest. After dinner, we will meet and share our thoughts and feelings about this wondrous day in our “Soul Café” with guided meditation.

Day 7 (B,L,D) (Workshop hours: 6)

After Breakfast, we will meet for a full day of workshops, breaking for lunch and snacks. We will learn to forgive, to open our hearts to love, and start to create our ideal lives. The key to healing our lives is forgiveness, both of ourselves and others. Then we can fully open ourselves up to an abundance of love. Now is the time to focus on joyfully creating your ideal life! What you can dream, you can achieve!

We will then board the motor coach and head off for an evening of Hawaiian Bliss: an authentic Luau!

Day 8 (B)

This morning we will meet for a short meditation after breakfast and then board the motor coach for Kaanapali Beach and Resort area. Kaanapali offers golden sand beaches as far as the eye can see, blue ocean with the islands of Lana'i and Moloka'i off in the distance. A paved beach walk connects you with some of the best shopping on the island, to the best snorkeling spots, open-air restaurants, even a beachfront museum. Play 36 holes of championship golf. Get a beachside massage. Go body boarding, sailing or kayaking. Whatever you choose, you are bound to have the time of your life at Kaanapali!

Upon our arrival back at camp, we will have our final “Soul Café” with guided meditation in the gymnasium.

Day 9 (B)

After breakfast, we will pack, and clean up after ourselves and depart the camp by 11 am.
