About Jan and her Grateful Heart!Jan Simpson, owner of Grateful Hearts Rainbow Tours, became a docent at the Buckman Tavern in Lexington, MA in 1998. Dressing in period attire, she led tours of the Inn, Tavern, and the infamous “Green” where the minutemen mustered and the first battle was fought on April 19, 1775. She found her bliss in the faces of the guests, and she especially loved creating wonder in the children when they heard the stories of how our country was founded. It was a natural progression that led Jan to combine her love of being a tour guide with her passion for travel and decided to become a Certified Tour Director through the International Tour Management Institute in San Francisco, CA.  Tour ExperienceJan has worked as an independent tour director for several tour operators in the U.S. and Europe. Her experience includes but is not limited to, student tours throughout N.E. and the Canadian maritimes, N.E. Fall Foliage Tours and Christmas Shopping tours, Historical tours of Boston, Concord, Lexington, Salem, Cape Cod, MA; Newport, RI, etc. She has also done extensive tours of the National Parks, from Mt. Rushmore, Yellowstone, Grand Tetons, Bryce Canyon, The Grand Canyon as well as several National Monuments. Mission StatementI have learned that life will give me just about exactly what I give to life. And, for the most part, my Mother was right: counting my blessings is a powerful expression of love. Grateful Hearts Rainbow Tours was founded on that premise. When we are grateful, we are happy, joyous and free to be all that we can be. That’s a promise, and the rainbow is a symbol of a promise. My intention is to bring joy and happiness to as many people as I can each and every day, and to plant a little seed of gratitude along the way. I hope you’ll join me on my journey. |
